Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house with a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family profits does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 2025 nsfas application and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African read more ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and nsfas status TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
